25 Apr fishing report 4-25-2016

April is almost over and it’s still rather cool for this time of year. Air temps are holding the water in the 68 degree range which is not necessarily a bad thing. It’s just warm enough to make the fiddler crabs active, so the flood tides have been great for catching tailing fish. The cooler water also seems to be holding the reds in their winter schools, at least some of them. We are still finding schools with 100 or so fish in them along with the scattered fish you expect to find this time of year. The water temperature is right for cobia, but I haven’t seen any yet. Should be any day now, so we’ll keep scouting.
