18 Oct Fishing report October 2015

It’s cooling off in the lowcountry but fishing is hot! We’ve had some bad weather to deal with in the Beaufort and Hilton Head area lately but it’s starting to get back to normal, including fall winds which can make things tricky from time to time, especially for flyfishing. Nothing we can’t deal with though. Water temps are in the mid to low 70’s and starting to clear up on nice days which makes for some great sight fishing for redfish. Our tides are still ranging on the high side, so there are still opportunities for tailing reds, but it won’t last much longer with the water cooling off. Bull red fishing has also been good and should continue to improve over the next month or so. Trout have also turned on and should get better until it gets real cold. This is the best time of year to fish the lowcountry!
